Copal is a natural tree resin that has been considered sacred for thousands of years across Mesoamerican and Native North American cultures. Harvested from trees of the Bursera genus, copal was seen as a sacred substance—one that bridges the earthly and the divine. Its scent evokes childhood memories, ceremonies, and spiritual connection—a sensory thread that ties generations together.

In Mesoamerican cultures such as the Mexica (Aztec), Maya, Zapotec, and Mixtec, copal was known as the "blood of the tree," symbolizing life force and divine connection. It was:

  • Burned in ceremonies to cleanse and bless sacred spaces

  • Offered to the gods in rituals and seasonal festivals

  • Used in burials to guide souls to the afterlife

  • Infused into traditional medicine to treat wounds and reduce inflammation

  • Believed to carry prayers upward through smoke—offering scent and spirit to the ancestors

Casa means home.
Together, Casa Copal represents a sacred home for healing, heritage, and intentional living. It honors Indigenous wisdom and invites all who enter to root themselves in wellness, tradition, and community care.
